Manfred Bleffert Courses (2008)
A program of art courses with international teacher Manfred Bleffert. Courses include offerings in music, visual art, and education. This innovative artistic work will serve as a vehicle for developing new experiences of the world and one's own humanity.
Beyond Polarities (2006)
"Finding our Humanity in a Time of Extremes" An international youth conference exploring social change and inner change. This was a joint venture with the Youth Section.
Soul Ecology Service Practicum (2005)
A Vocational Training Connecting your Heart to your
Work
SESP is a five month internship program for youth coming
out of high school or college that includes a residential
practicum, a four month internship and an integration.
High School Projects
Week (2003-2004)
High School students participated in an intensive arts
and service experience at the Oakland Noodle Factory
(community space for performing and fine arts activities),
working in urban gardens with Peoples Grocery
and developing a performance project inspired by urban
reality.
Soul Ecology - Building Capacities for Sustainable Living
(2000-2003)
The Soul Ecology project offers participants the opportunity to live, work, learn and play together for a three-week period. The program incorporates elements of theater, ecological building and journaling to further creativity and self-development. The Soul Ecology project includes the Soul Ecology Service Practicum, and the High School Projects Week.
Other Programs Art Jams (2000-2003)
Community-based events that focus on expressing individual
creativity within community -- creating a safe, supportive
and fun environment for people from all walks of life
to come together to explore and express their creativity
through a variety of art forms such as painting, music,
dance, theater and sculpture.
Dance Classes (2001-2008)
Creative dance classes for children ages 2.5 to 5 were
held at Ashkenaz in Berkeley, CA. Currently classes are offered in the Burlington, VT area. Classes incorporate story,
music, games, and elements of dance. |
